Matoa Indonesia’s goals to enter the global market and to be acknowledged worldwide are not a mere dream any longer. After we successfully entered the Asian market and sold our products in some countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan, we finally made our debut to enter the European market in late 2015. Previously, we were also honored to get featured by the two renowned international medias, Telegraph UK and Reuters that wrote an issue about how we transform waste wood into authentic wooden watches in Indonesia. This is certainly a pride that our creativity and hard work are finally acknowledged by the whole wide world.
The presence of Matoa Indonesia in Europe wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t because of our collaboration with Mojo Jaya, one of our stockiest based in Germany. Mojo Jaya itself is a shop that specializes in selling Indonesian products and becomes our authorized distributor for the entire European region. Mojo Jaya is currently setting up a website in order to sell Matoa products online in Europe. You can also follow their Instagram account at @matoa_europe.
Until today we have received positive responses and good appreciation in the European market. It is undoubtedly because our watches have character and uniqueness and arehandcrafted. Better yet, the majority of the European society gives appreciation and respect for the handmade products, not only in terms of price and raw material, but also the cultural values that lie in our products.
Hopefully, our recognition in Europe can be a motivation for us to explore more innovation and creativity that we nurture to bring the high-quality products right in the palm of your hand. And of course, in the future we plan to expand our target market throughout the globe as a proof that Indonesian creative industries are capable to compete in the international market.
