Happiness is actually an emotional condition that shows feelings of pleasure, gratitude and satisfaction.
Getting a job, spending time with someone, enjoying your favorite food, crying over the unexpected and even, when you can calmly do nothing for an entire day.
Did you know that happiness has an anniversary that is celebrated by the world? Yup! International Day Of Happines is an observance on March 20 every year, this idea was initiated by a philanthropist and special adviser to the United Nations, named Illien.
Why was March 20 chosen as the International Day of Happiness? Because there is a natural phenomenon known as the vernal equinox, or the point of the sun’s spring that marks the start of the astronomical spring. The equinox is the position of the sun at the equator that occurs twice a year, March 19-21 and September 21-24.
Departing from this, Illien described happiness as a universal phenomenon that is felt by all mankind, as well as a period of renewal and new beginnings for all humans.
Don’t forget to mark March 20 on your calendar as a day of happiness!
In the near future, we managed to interview several people who are willing to interpret the meaning of happiness. We believe that age is one of the factors that influence the meaning of happiness, both big happiness and small happiness. It feels very interesting, knowing that the variety of happiness that is around us, is so varied and feels very organic. This proves one thing, that happiness is very personal and has real differentiation.
Here we summarize some statements from the sources, regarding the meaning of happiness at different age ranges.
Little things like: coming home from work on time, work going smoothly, being surrounded by good and cool friends, being able to eat the food we like, coming home clean and healthy, of course.
In my opinion, happiness can actually be created by ourselves, such as doing a hobby or listening to our favorite song.
There are times when we feel very happy when we gather with friends, exchange news and recharge energy from there. But when we return home, sometimes we feel lonely.
So depending on how you mindset your mind, when you feel grateful, think okay and don’t worry too much about something, I think that’s the definition of happy more than enough :)”
The meaning of happiness is getting simpler every day, isn’t it?
When I was little, the meaning of happiness for me was if I could buy plush toys like my rich friend
Then when I was in junior high school, the meaning of happiness for me was being able to rank 1 and get a gift from the homeroom teacher
When I was in Vocational High School, my happy meaning was that I could get at least 5000 pocket money, and I was very happy when I got a hand
So when I was 17 years old, it turned out that the meaning of happiness for me was mama. For whatever reason, the happiest thing in this world is having a mother.
After my mother died, I just found out that happiness is having a rich person in my life.
There are so many people in this hemisphere who are not aware that the most valuable sustenance in life is having a mother and being accompanied by a mother until old age. Therefore, for anyone who is still confused about happiness, if there are still complete parents, let’s try to look at their faces, and be grateful.
Because honestly, after mom isn’t around, the meaning of my happiness is only 1. I can see my younger siblings grow up well even without mom
For me, the way to be happy is to stop feeling disappointed. When we are not easily disappointed then there we will be happy.”
After reading various statements from several sources about the meaning of happiness they want to feel at their respective ages. Have you managed to determine, what is your own version of happiness?
The benefits of happiness that are very important for you to know are that it has a strong enough influence on the health condition of the body.
When someone is happy, the body will release the hormone dopamine which will make you feel better. So, what does this have to do with overall health?
Some of the hormones that are released when a person feels happy will have an effect that makes the cells in the body work better, some of these hormones include:
Dopamine. The hormone dopamine itself can not only make you feel better. The hormone dopamine also functions as a neurotransmitter which is an important part of the brain’s working system. The pleasant sensation produced by the hormone dopamine will encourage the brain to focus more and help improve the body’s motor function.
Serotonin. Similar to the hormone dopamine, the hormone serotonin, which also acts as a neurotransmitter, helps regulate mood and affects sleep, appetite, and the brain’s ability to store memories.
Endorphins. This hormone is a natural pain reliever that the body can produce on its own. You can increase this hormone while doing things that focus your attention and make you happy, such as eating and exercising.
Oxytocin. Also known as the love hormone, oxytocin is normally produced by the body when a person is engaged in activities that show affection such as hugging, kissing, and having sex. Usually women have higher levels of oxytocin than men.
From the explanation above, it can be illustrated that happiness may have an impact on a stronger immune system. It is not clear how the two are related. But chances are, happiness has an influence on the activity of the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis as a regulator of the body’s immune system and stress control so that it works better.
Given that there are so many benefits of happiness that are very useful for you. So, there’s nothing wrong with being a happy person, right?
Investigate a difference about the way of happiness expressed by each person, sometimes it is difficult. Some really show their happy feelings through facial expressions, words, behavior, or even some people don’t want to look happy at all.
Apparently, happiness is real but can also be an illusion. For example, you get a salary bonus many times more than usual, then you celebrate with office friends to celebrate the happy day.
However, it can be an illusion when in fact you are feeling frantic and sad, but console yourself and pretend to be happy.
For example, when you just found out that you were betrayed by someone very important. And you just answer, “It’s ok! I’m glad that you’re honest!”
Sacrificing yourself to look happy in front of others is not a good thing for your mental health, right! In a relationship that contains intimacy, making someone happy who feels very special in your eyes, may still be the main goal. In fact, there are so many simple things you can do to make someone happy, without hurting yourself. It’s good, you can distinguish real and illusory happiness. Before you make other people happy, let’s start being honest with yourself, is the happiness you feel right now real or an illusion? The answer lies in the lens you use to see how life in this universe should rotate.
As a way to open your mind about various definitions of happiness, perhaps, reading words about happiness that come from famous figures who have long been familiar with the salt of life, can give you enlightenment in living life.

If you have read the happy words above, and maybe in your mind there is still a question about “Are there any tutorials or tips for achieving happiness?” The answer, of course not! Happiness is not something that you can learn in theory, nor is it a success that is guided or determined from a manual book. In fact, have you ever felt happy after venting anger?
An event that triggers anger is a condition in which a person feels disadvantaged or threatened in a situation. Showing anger is part of the resistance to re-take a role in a situation that is felt to be unfair.
Even when you are angry, the problem will not be solved. But venting it can bring a commensurate feeling of relief. Unconsciously angry can make you feel happy and bring a sense of comfort within
At certain times, anger can make you happy because of the emergence of a feeling that can build self-strength, or can be said to be a feeling of superiority.
Even so, the feeling of happiness that arises when you are angry can be called a troubled feeling. Because anger filled with happiness can turn against you. For example, because you feel superior and right, you can over-bully the person you are angry at. Therefore, you still have to try to control the anger you feel.
In fact, you can find them when you’re traveling alone, without the need for someone to accompany you. Avoid feeling afraid, will get ridicule and strange looks from people. You are very allowed to do your own activities, such as watching a favorite movie at the cinema, giving a special gift as a self-reward, enjoying a cup of coffee at a coffee shop of choice, traveling out of town, pampering your body by going to a salon and spa or night driving for just to see the city view at night. Because in truth, happiness can be created!
“Happiness is something you get, not by asking for it. What makes you feel so exhausted all the time, is when we are too busy making other people happy. We have no obligation to it and neither does anyone else towards us. Our happiness is our own responsibility. Find happiness and start it all by knowing yourself, loving yourself and making peace with yourself.
